I was born on the 10th May 1937 in Torquay.  I lived with my mother and father (a Co-operative Funeral Director) at 22 Haslam Road, until I married my present wife Janet.  I went to Upton junior school before going on to the Grammar school.  On leaving school I went to work as a junior in the Co-operative offices in Albert Road working my up to bank manager before moving over to the Co-operative Insurance Society.  After 25 years with the CIS I was lucky enough to retire at the age of 55 and denote a grate deal of my time to the building and formation of the Torquay United Indoor Bowling Club.
